Retail Procurement Coordinator (Buyer) in Waterloo, Ontario

The Retail Procurement Co-ordinator (Buyer) is accountable to the General Merchandise Manager for oversight of retail merchandise buying, effective category turnover and individual product sales for the uWaterloo campus. In this role you will supervise the General Merchandise Buyer and the Buying Assistant to implement effective inventory management and merchandising. and observe customer preferences for future sourcing decisions.The incumbent will research and analyse sales history, inventory turnover, buying patterns and future trends to ensure excellent sell through and sales performance, as well as source new products or suppliers to negotiate the best price, quality, and delivery terms.The successful candidate will have: Post-secondary education in business or retail management or equivalent education and experienceExtensive experience in retail procurement of products including but not limited to apparel, gifts, accessories, and custom imprint merchandisePrevious leadership and supervisory experience in a retail environmentDemonstrated retail sourcing abilities, and cross function teamwork including marketing are required Demonstrated knowledge and application of retail systems for procurement, sales reports, forecasts, and inventory managementProficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint or AccessExcellent communication skill, organization, and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of the uWaterloo brand is an asset Interested candidates should apply for this position by September 30, xxxx through the University of Waterloo?s online recruitment system found at www.hr.uwaterloo.ca/mycareer/all_apps.htmlNavigate to ?external postings on my career @ uwaterloo online recruitment system? page.
